Review of Krampus (2015) by Graham B — 16 Dec 2015
An enjoyable 90 minutes of throwback 80's nostalgia, "Krampus" has the air of an Amblin production that Joe Dante or Spielberg might have made in their early years. It focuses on a typical family at Christmas who gather and bicker and essentially forget what Christmas is all about, and so they are punished.
It was really refreshing to see practical effects and hardly any CGI, and the winter themed sets and sound effects were all tremendous . It also has a nice sequence at the start in slow motion which shows the chaos that Christmas ultimately brings.
The ending disappointed me slightly but I get why they did it, but all in all I thoroughly enjoyed "Krampus".
