Review of Kramer vs. Kramer (1979) by Cesar C — 19 Dec 2010
Although it can be overly melodramatic at times, Hoffman does a masterful job of conveying what it must be like for a workaholic father to be suddenly thrust into the role of single parent. The movie really kicks into high gear in the second half as they move into the court room, and the emotional torment of a child custody battle are laid bare.
Lastly, although most audience members will love the happy ending, somehow it rings false to me.
