DRAMA.
Wife (Meryl Streep) sudden leave from husband (Dustin Hoffman) leaving him to look after and fend for their only child!
This film grows with repeated viewings because the film can be looked at on so many levels, one example being as a statement that single fathers can care for their kids as much as mothers! Specific situtation that's often overlooked and are often stereotypical since single mothers are normally the only providers!
Winner of 5 Oscars including "Best Actor In a Leading Role" for Dustin Hoffman, "Best Actress In A Supporting Role" for Meryl Streep, "Best Picture" and 'Best Director" for Robert Benton out of 9 nominations!
