Review of Kramer vs. Kramer (1979) by Brandon W — 25 Dec 2014
Kramer vs. Kramer is a very realistic portrayal of divorce and child custody. My parents are going through full child custody, so seeing this movie really felt uncanny to me which can be hard to sit through at times, which is a good thing because that's how realistic it is.
Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep are fantastic and they act like real-life parents. The characters are interesting enough for me to either care or hate about them in a good way. Justin Henry is actually really great, it's very interesting to see where it's going, and it's unpredictable.
The movie is well-directed, well-written, and it's one of those movies that I can relate to because of what my sister and I are going through. It can be funny and cute at times, but when it goes to the drama, it's really effective.
