Review of Kong: Skull Island (2017) by David A — 27 Nov 2017
It's been twelve years since Peter Jackson's masterpiece was released onto the big screen. A lot of stakes and high hopes were raised for this latest reboot of the "King Kong" franchise.
Sadly, it's a disappointment. "Kong: Skull Island" is an annoying attempt to share it's universe with the newly rebooted "Godzilla' franchise because the studio wants to make more money rather than creating a decent story.
The characters weren't developed, the whole "orange" color palette was annoying, and don't get me started on the direction because it felt like the director wanted to make a cartoon rather than a self-serious movie.
Yeah, I know. Monsters movies are supposed to be fun, but when do we cross the line before we finally realize that the film is more ridiculous than fun? I hope the director learns from his mistakes because I would never watch another one of his films if he does this same style again.
