Review of Kong: Skull Island (2017) by Owen W — 19 Mar 2017

Kong continues the solid groundwork laid by Godzilla as we get another movie with impressive action and even more lush and vivid visuals. The movie takes on a more adventurous danger at every turn stance with the cast doing a great job to sell that, becoming a great ensemble on screen.

While its narrative does somewhat match Godzilla, especially in its final act and a slight uneven story, there is a enough new here especially compared to the big budget fairy tale and comic book films we have become accustomed to.
