Review of Kon-Tiki (2012) by Elle H — 11 Apr 2013
This film blew my mind. The visual FX were epic- I had no idea until after I saw the film that all of the animal life (minus the parrot) was VFX. It looked better than Life of Pi, and this was the most expensive Norwegian film ever made at $15million.
How they accomplished everything they did with that budget, I'll never know. I also had no clue what Kon Tiki was, or who Thor Heyerdahl was before I saw this film, but he is more or less the Norwegian equivalent of Lewis and Clark.
See this film. They shot it in two languages, so you don't even have to read subtitles! (Though I saw the subtitled version).
