Review of Kodachrome (2017) by Anthony K — 23 Apr 2018
Kodachrome is the absolute perfect Netflix film, in my eyes. It's relatively small budget, a reasonable length, filled with a small crew of universally excellent actors, and an *extremely* familiar genre film.
It's that last bit that would have made it galling to pay for, if not making it not a very good film. There's no getting around the fact that Kodachrome is generic, and that we've seen it a thousand times before.
But does that mean we *don't* want another instance of that template out there in the world if it's executed very well? I don't see any reason why not.
