Review of Knowing (2009) by Anthony V — 17 Jan 2012
"Stay with me. I know how this sounds, but I've mapped these numbers to the dates of every major global disaster from the last 50 years in perfect sequence. Earthquakes, fires, tsunamis... The next number on the chain predicts that tomorrow, somewhere on the planet, 81 people are going to die, in some kind of tragedy." - John Koestler.
It is seldom that we have a film where Religion and Science assented with each other. "Knowing" beat all the odds and delivers a one of a kind sci-fi thriller that will truly be debated amongst moviegoers. This movie holds one's attention and drags them into a a world filled with tension and superlative. I must say, this movie is too close to perfection. This is not your run-of-the-mill apocalyptic movie. It is something more. The movie doesnt halt. From a very eerie tone, amazing disaster sequences, emotional build-up, beautiful casts, and unobtrusive direction, it is a damn majestic. I already viewed this movie a couple of times already and still, I am highly satisfied with "Knowing". A unique and enthralling experience that creates tensity in an monopolizing way. The "Knowing" should be listed in your movie itinerary. 5 out of 5 stars! :).
