Review of Knowing (2009) by Will H — 12 Mar 2012
A great premise and an excellent start set up a great film, so it is unfortunate when that film ends and a completely different one starts beyond the half hour mark. I think they must have cut together two films staring the same cast, or cut about 30 minutes of character development in the middle somewhere because none of their actions really made any sense for me.
However the saving grace, as with any film involving the great man himself, is one Nicolas Cage, who with his deadpan delivery can push a film from the brink of unwatchable into the category of, 'so bad it's good'.
Without these unintended moments of genius in the dialogue there would be nothing to redeem Knowing.
