Review of Knocked Up (2007) by R. Grant N — 23 Jan 2013
Rogen and apatow create one of the funniest movies. The film takes a simple concept and breathes hilarious moments into it. The film is one of the few rare comedies that mix reality with outrageous scenes. The film might be quite long but it rarely out stays its welcome.
Apatow gets everything right in he's follow up to the 40 year old virgin. Instead of another slapstick film he goes with a film that doesn't require the usual teenage silly humour. The film was a turning point for apatow as he focused on more plot heavy films instead of these fun flicks.
The cast is amazing and its only the forced cameos that lack any humour. Rogen is excellent in the lead and is given great support.
This film has great repeat viewing and is a worthy addition to the collection. It's a shame apatow hasn't hit these heights again but shown the clever film here you know he is more then capable.
