Review of Knockaround Guys (2001) by Kefka T — 27 Feb 2004
Just Rented this film, I didnt really know what to expect. The cast on paper is pretty steady with the likes of dennis hoppper and john malkovich. I was dissapointed by the amount dennis hopper had in this film but all in all it was enjoyable.
The two police Are pretty funny and the scene in the bar is a nice touch "500". You gotta watch it to know what im onna about.
As far as gangsta films go this isnt really a gansta film, in the same way 28 days later isn't a zombie film. Sure theres kinda gansters in it but NOT really in the traditional sense, Not the stereotypical Hollywood gangster types.
The Story is pretty basic, Son feels rejected by father. Pleeds with him to let him prove himself. Gets chance but messes up. Comedy unsues - Gun fights and fighting. Then it all turns out for the best in the end.....For most of um anyway.
This film is worth seeing is not just to entertain you for an hour and a half, There are alot of worse films out there. Espically some of the so called "Big Releases" its been out a while but I suggest you take a look.
