Review of Knock Off (1998) by Alex J — 17 May 2009
Do I like Van Damme movies? No. Am I a fan of Rob Schneider? Not especially, but he's had his moments. Does this film rock? Yeah, it does. Why? Unlike your typical VD movie, this actually has an engrossing backdrop, namely the handover of Hong Kong to China.
It also takes an unimportant, but fairly interesting, look at the illegal fake goods import/export business. Not your typical VD movie, and that's why it's actually pretty good.
