Review of Knock Off (1998) by Mr D — 04 Sep 2010
Van Damme's Rush Hour, if that makes any sense. Rob Schneider and Van Damme have some good chemistry, along with some sidekicks in Lela Rochon and Michael Wong.
The beginning is very slow, taking time to explain the plot. Then the action is non-stop. A cool fight scene pits Van Damme in a fruit factory against a mob of angry machete wielding baddies.
According to imdb's trivia section Sammo Hung was the 2nd action director and filmed a great climax fight scene with Van Damme and the knife villain. The fight we see is only 30 seconds long and badly mutilated, and we never get to see it. This is probably the only downside to this action packed and cheesy movie.
