I have so much love for Rian Johnson films that it was inevitable that I would really enjoy Knives Out. And I did! It's one of the funniest whodunits that's been crafted. The performances are superb. The only real problem is its quite bloated, at 2 hours 10 minutes, it really stretches a plot out a few twists too many.
If it was a crisp 95 minutes it would have been my favorite movie of the year. The extra content doesn't ruin the movie, and its vastly entertaining, but brevity always makes whodunits shine brighter.
