Review of Knightriders (1981) by Dan G — 03 Mar 2009
This movie has an interesting plot about these knightriders who are performing for the audience in a realistic style combat with cycles and medieval weapons and armor. The idea is original and the storyline is not really cliched as much as it good have been. There was no really clear conflict though probably capitalism and at some points I felt Tom Savini was going to be the bad guy but instead he really was not. That is the bizarre thing about this movie and maybe why I liked it more. Usually especially Hollywood movies there is a conflict bad versus good. However is this movie it is more about a life of traveling performers and how their solidarity with each other is so important. Ed Harris was great and his character really loved the sport and when he could not play anymore he felt dead inside.
An interesting side note when I met Tom Savini he signed this dvd case. He also signs a kids magazine in this movie.
