Review of Knife in the Water (1962) by Jean-François L — 02 Mar 2006
Knife in the Water is a dialogue driven thriller about the rivalry of men that takes place almost entirely on a small sail boat. My biggest problem it's a dialogue driven movie where the characters never say anything of interest expect for maybe the last scene.
The film surprisingly isn't all that suspenseful either and the final confrontation btween the two men is rather weak. Despites those problems the acting is solid and Polanski's direction is excellent.
