Review of Knife in the Water (1962) by Al M — 19 Aug 2008
Polanski's first full length film is a brilliant debut that examines the games humans play with one another and the lengths they will go to in order to placate their egos. Polanski uses blocking, camera angles, character triangulation, and host of other cinematic aspects to create a tight, disturbing, and suspensful examination of human nature.
