Review of Knife in the Water (1962) by Keaton P — 23 Sep 2009
I found it to be a true testimony to the beautiful simplicity that foreign cinema often can embody. When Americans so often times need locations, speed, and flash to keep the eye of the viewer, Polanski and his fellow foreign mates do it with the crafty pacing of character tension.
Who knew so much could be done with a single location, three actors, and one fantastic eye for framing. Also, the title is drop dead perfection.
