Review of Klute (1971) by Norman G — 07 Jun 2007
A paranoid classic. Fonda is brilliant as an unhinged but strong willed call girl and Sutherland is unusual as the quiet, softly spoken Klute. Tight, restrictive photography, eerie music and a plot that shifts between taut thriller and sublime character study make this a strangely compelling and oddly dreamlike experience.
