The gay-straight prison relationship between Julia and Hurt is somewhat disturbing. Lots of people assumed Hurt was gay in real life, which is kind of funny considering his roles in Body Heat, The Big Chill, etc.
Hey, remember the '80s? Remember when all Latin American countries were run by horrible despots? Remember Pinochet and Somoza and the Contras and the Dirty War? Man, that was awesome!
