Review of Kiss of the Spider Woman (1985) by M E — 30 Aug 2008
I've waited a long time to watch this film, and I'm very glad I finally caught up with it. While there's a moment about an hour into the film which shifts the film into territory it's not really equipped to handle, William Hurt manages to pull the entire thing through.
I've liked him in a bunch of films, but he's absolute aces here. The film wouldn't work if he didn't hit every note, and that the ending makes any sense at all is a great compliment to him.
