This one made me laugh out loud many times. Charlie's father dies and he feels obliged to keep the shoe factory in Northampton alive. Accidentally he meets Lola, a transvestite entertainer who complains that woman's shoes don't hold up his weight.
Solving Lola's problem solves Charlie's problem, but not without a lot of laughs and kinks and learning on everyone's part--especially the employees of the shoe factory. The scene where Lola's landlandy in Northampton asks if she's a man is to die for.
Lola's definition of high heeled boots as "tubular sex" is right up there too.
