Review of Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015) by Regi H — 27 Jan 2016
It is a little too Men in Black for my liking, The jumpy cam battle sequences give me a headache, like come on people just hold the camera still. The humor is overly sexual most of the time, some jokes are hilariously funny.
The cast, for the most part, is great. People give to much credit to Taron Edgerton, saying he could be the next James Bond or even Han Solo, that is a bold claim considering Taron Edgerton is one of the worst parts of the movie for me.
Colin Firth was great as Harry Hart. Even though the battle scenes were very shaky I still found myself enjoying all the cool gadgets and choreography. That church sequence was just plain amazing. Samuel L.
Jackson finally gave me a performance that made me feel as if he was actually trying to get into character rather than just play Samuel L. Jackson like he does with mostly every other movie. And Michael Caine was great as always.
