Review of Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015) by Kyle L — 05 Sep 2016
It's violent, very violent. One scene in particular is hard to watch. But as a whole, it serves this movie for the better. The dialogue is purposefully crude as well, and this too serves the movie for the better.
The crudeness in this setting is a surprising breath of fresh air for a genre that has been limited to mild fight scenes, dramatic set pieces, and smart one liners. While films such as the bond ones are great in their own right, the kingsman chooses to push boundaries, re-inventing the thriller spy genre with a fantastically stylish movie.
This film may be ostracized by the older film buffs, but as a young viewer who has seen is fare share of classics and modern masterpieces, I have to rank this movie among my favorites of all time. I enjoyed this film, and I'd be sore if there wasn't a continuation of this new universe.
