Review of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (2016) by Kane M — 13 Sep 2016
Personally I Love it. Between the stunning CG to the character design/monster design to the story itself. Everything about it was masterfully crafted into an absolutely beautiful film to watch.
However this is probably because of my biased opinion of being a gamer that has been waiting for this game for the last ten years. To most viewers this film is will get a low score because of how they compare it to every other by product of the film industry, but that is an unfair assessment of this film. Sure, it's a two hour film of advertisement of the game but why would people expect it anything different ? I mean I didn't exactly watching it with the thoughts that it was going to be psychological horror or slap-stick comedy. Like the games, this followed the trend of a big f**k off boss fight at the end. The build up, everything was carefully planned and executed to show the viewer visually how complex both the storyline and the characters are.
Now granted this film will confuse a lot of people and of course critics will get up on the moral high horse. However The way I view this film is purely from being a complete and utter fan of Square Enix's work. I cannot view it any other way.
