Review of King Solomon's Mines (1950) by Hugo F — 31 Dec 2007
Only introduced to this film in the last two years, but there is something about Stewart Granger that makes it hard for one to take ones eyes off him. Not many of his films are praised. Here he is adventuring through the pages of what seems to be an issue of National Geographic reciting the most wise and noble lines in the defense of the wild.
He can do it too and one becomes all ears. Its not sensational and to its credit. Although anthropologists will cringe nonetheless, as a film lover I say it could have been far worse.
