Review of King Solomon's Mines (1950) by Allan C — 23 Feb 2013
"A woman on safari? No, thank you!" 1950s sexism and racism aside, this is a solid jungle adventure film. H. Rider Haggard's Indiana Jones prototype, Allan Quatermain, is in search for a mysterious lost diamond mine, with lots of jungle adventure along the way.
However, I think the real star of the film is the the gorgeous location color photography, which was later reused as stock footage in a number of other films.
