One of numerous “fish out of water” tales about an American ascending to the throne of the United Kingdom. Not as bad as it sounds, thanks to Ward’s direction and sympathetic performances from Goodman and Coduri.
However, the storyline is entirely predictable—Adam Sandler’s later Mr Deeds remake following this pattern, along with many others before and since.
