Review of King of the Zombies (1941) by Brendan R — 16 Oct 2009
I Tivo'ed this because of the word "zombies" in the title but wasn't expecting much because it was made in 1941. But boy, was I wrong. Mantan Moreland was absolutely hilarious as the proto-jive-talking manservant Jeff caught in the middle of some sort of diabolical plot to use reanimation techiniques to gain war intelligence.
I kept checking to see if the movie was listed as Horror/Comedy but no, it was billed as a horror movie. I can recommend it highly.
