(1966) King of Hearts.
(In French with English subtitles).
COMEDY/ SOCIAL COMMENTARY.
This unfunny French comedy and anti -war film regards a French soldier instructed to enter into an isolated town for the intention of undetonating a hidden bomb meant to blow up the opposing enemies built by the Nazis and to find out about a specific slogan! While there, the young soldier comes across a bunch of mental patients wondering around the area, escaped by a door left open from a mental hospital!
The sole idea about how it came about it's original concept is more fascinating to know than it would be to watch this exaggerated idea, made into an unfunny film. Beatniks and hippies would like this sort of thing because of the radical costumes that are appearant against the war in general during the 60's and 70's! Although, I can understand it, I can probably find better things to do with my time!
2 out of 4.
