Review of King of California (2007) by Pati P — 01 Feb 2009
The best thing about this movie is that Michael Douglas is balls to the wall crazy. It's worth a watch for his performance alone. Evan Rachel Wood isn't bad, which is my way of saying that she was pretty inert.
And the story is fine. I guess what really kept this movie from being really good was that it re-trod well-trod ground: how to live a life of magic and meaning in a land of Applebee's and Costco's.
Definitely a good movie for a late night chill.
