A masterpiece! Peter Jackson's "King Kong" is definitely a landmark in cinema, as it truly shows what great movie making is all about and that the use of CGI can be effective if done right.

Jack Black does a decent enough job as the movie director/producer who is in a crisis with his new movie and sets off on an expedition with his new actress played brilliantly and wonderfully by Naomi Watts.

Who is front and center of this movie as she shines in ways we have never seen her shine before onscreen. Adrien Brody does a good job at playing the screenwriter who falls in love with Naomi Watts while on this voyage to Skull Island, where Jack Black plans to finish his movie.

Kyle Chandler best know for the tv show "Friday Night Lights" and Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street," has a very decent size role and is very impressive as the adventurous actor who is secretly out for himself, as they travel through the jungles of Skull Island together after Naomi Watts is kidnapped by a bunch of savagely looking natives on the island, who plan on sacrificing her to the great and almighty King Kong.

Kong is a performance captured performance by Andy Serkis who played Gollum in "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy," who I strongly feel even though it's a performance captured performance that Serkis should have got an oscar nomination for his work as he truly brings the epic King Kong alive on the big screen and once your eyes are locked, it's impossible to take them off the giant ape.

The best moments in the film are where we see Naomi Watts and King Kong together as we see as they slowly embrace one another and that Kong has fallen in love with the lovely Naomi Watts. Those scenes are effective and truly make your realize why Kong is one of the most powerful and best tragedy stories ever told, and that the story of King Kong must live on as it truly is remarkable they way especially as Peter Jackson has shown us his version on screen that King Kong must never be forgotten.
