CONSENSUS: Considered by many to be the greatest monster movie of all time (seemingly forgetting masterpieces like FRANKENSTEIN), this dearly loved classic is certainly one of the most memorable and influential films in the history of movie making.
Wray set the standard for Hollywood scream queens to come, doing a slam bang job as the damsel in distress. Though acting as a whole is not a highlight of this version, the action and initial fear inducing persona is magnificent.
The now famous Empire State Building scene is dizzying and flat out scary. One of the greats in the horror film genre that continues to out do any of its well-intentioned remakes. MY GRADE: A-.
