King Kong is my all time favorite movie. The stop-motion special effects may seem dated to some but you have got to admit it is fun to watch these giant monsters fight & we can all respect the work & effort put into these effects unlike today when you just click a computer mouse and you've got lazer beam.

The main animator of this movie Willis O, Brian had to come up with all sorts of new techniques. It's incredible that they were able to have actors and clay figures in the same movie without using a computer.

For 1933 it looks amazing. Most people say Citizen Cane is the most monumental film ever & it is a very monumental film that pioneered loads of new techniques but Kong came out several years before it and also pioneered a lot of new techniques why can't this be the most monumental film ever.

The sound design is excellent. The way Kong roars sounds very realistic & the music excellerates the excitement. Speaking of excitement the climax is one of the most exciting scenes in cinematic history it's so incredibly suspensful.

But it's not just about the edge of your seat thrills and the fact that this movie is a feast for the eyes and the ears it's about the characters & the emotion this movie tries to convey. An epic masterpiece of cinema that is phenomenal and the best Kong movie to date.
