Review of King Kong (1933) by Matt H — 05 Jul 2012
One of the most classic of all monster movies. It had great effects for it's time and it's still awesome to watch. I forgot dinosaurs were in this movie, and that they fight to the death with King Kong! I love it.
Besides epic battles with dinosaurs, the 50 foot gorilla also smooshes people, chews on people, rampages in the Jungle and in New York, smashes all kinds of stuff and falls for the blonde starlet played by the lovely Fay Wray.
It's a little slow at first but once it gets going (which doesn't take that long) it's very good with no real lulls in the action. I don't really mind that it's in black and white because it looks so good.
As monster movies go this one is hard to beat. 4 out of 5 stars.
