Review of King Kong (1933) by Matthew M — 17 Dec 2013
There is a reason that Kong has withstood the test of time the same way that Godzilla has and that is due to the fact that his first outing was just as game-changing as the big G. Released 21 years before the original Godzilla, King Kong did something that no other monster movie had done before and that very few have done since: humanized the monster.
This is a movie that any film aficionado should see at least once. So why did it not get five stars? Well, let's just say I wouldn't be upset if I never heard Fay Wray scream again.
