One of the best films ever made. "King Kong" has adventure, fantasy, great beasts, a giant lovable ape, a great score, and pacing that stands the test of time. It doesn't really get more iconic or well made than this in classic cinema, and even major fantasy adventure films of today have a hard time living up to this one.
