Review of King Arthur (2004) by Scott J — 19 Jun 2012
Nicely done as far as acting and script. Great details with the cinematography and costumes and it was easy to follow. The reason why it was just mediocre was because it didn't include any of the drama or magic of the infamous tale.
If it wasn't about King Arthur and was just about a random group of warriors it would've been better, instead it let down my expectations. For those who have read the tales be prepared for no magician, no love triangle, no quest for grail, and so on.
.. As far as action scenes go it did well and the villain was good, my fav was the guy with 12 kids. In trying to be more realistic it played the story too safe and cliche (the one action scene reminds me of braveheart).
My other big gripe is that it's very inaccurate historically and tries to act like it's the truth. For a similar but better movie, go see 300 or braveheart.
