Review of Kindergarten Cop (1990) by Giana G — 08 Nov 2009
C'mon! How can anyone hate Kindergarten Cop? It's not high art, but it's a fun movie starring a guy with an obvious limit to his range. Most of the film is playful with even the villain giving a wink at the audience in one scene late in the movie. Strangely enough, the film does take a turn to the more serious side toward the end. Which is so off base with the rest of the film.
But the good news is that Arnie doesn't hog the spotlight. The kids are allowed to have some fun and aren't just a nuisances to the cop trying to achieve his real goals. If this movie was made today, these kids would be made to be the biggest demon kids ever. And that's sad.
