Review of Killshot (2008) by Samuel C — 21 Mar 2009
I did enjoy this film, but it feels like there's a good 30mins of material cut out to make it more fast-paced. The scenes with Rourke and Levitt are always good, but whenever it goes back to Lane and Jane, things slow down and their relationship is never fully explored or built up on. It would have been nice setting up their rocky marriage at the beginning then unleashing hell on them.
Having said that - the action scenes are fantastic, acting is great and there's a definate sense of Mann's "Heat" flowing into some of scenes (which is never a bad thing). It IS a good film, just I feel that the REAL film should be an extra 30 minutes longer with more characterisation.
