Review of Killshot (2008) by Kyle E — 21 Mar 2009
Mickey Rourke. Yep that's pretty much the main reason to watch this movie. Casting him as a Native American is a pretty big stretch, but I was willing to go with it on this one. Problem is, there's one performance that wears this movie down from a 3.
5 rating to just a 3. Joseph Gordon-Levitt. His character is so ridiculously over-the-top in this film that it bogged down to me having to cringe at every scene he was in. Clearly he doesn't have the caliber here to share the same screen as some other acting greats, namely Rourke and Lane.
Thomas Jane is always a joy to see, as he already proved himself awesome in The Punisher, and he's quite good here too. Predictable, yet I still found the film to be quite entertaining and the plot develops in a very interesting way.
Worth your time if you can get past Gordon-Levitt.
