Review of Killshot (2008) by Kieran K — 20 May 2009
I give this one a 3-star rating purely because of the good acting from the cast.
Mickey Rourke stars as an assassin who screwed up his last assignment and had to retreat to his hometown where he meets a young crazy human cannonball, commendably played by Gordon Levitt (who looks uncannily like a skinny Heath Ledger) and they both team up on a job to extort money from a Realtor. Diane Lane and her husband Thomas Jane became witnesses in the course of it and the hitmen were out to hunt them down.
As far as the story goes, I must say it's a little messy with way too many subplots that really don't matter in the end. The teaming up of the various characters in the movie also seem somewhat odd and random and you question the relevance of their appearance in the first place.
