Review of Killshot (2008) by Sissel G — 23 May 2009
Killshot is a story of two killers, one a professional, experienced hit-man and the other a dim-witted young psychopath. Rourke is a veteran hit-man for the Toronto mob who slays his boss's girlfriend during a hit. He joins forces with inept misfit criminal Joseph Gordon-Levitt to gain some quick cash by extorting a wealthy realtor. Their plan for quick cash goes wrong when the pair is seen by Diane Lane and her soon to be ex-husband, Thomas Jane. A subsequent request for her to testify against the Rourke lands both Diane Lane and her husband, Tomas Jane, in the Witness Protection Program.
Rourke isn't a man who likes to leave loose ends when it comes to his work, and now the assassin and his psychotic partner attempt to remove the witnesses.
Diane Lane was good as always. Thomas Jane was a pleasant surprise. Rosario Dawson was totally wasted and there was hardly any point in even having her character in the film. This movie had capable actors but a terrible script. The story line is extremely predictable.
