Review of Killing Zoe (1993) by Marcelo C — 30 Mar 2009
This was a cool badass movie. Eric Stoltz was awesome as a lead actor, I should check out more of his work. This was a psychedelic trip of a film. Following Zed who plans to crack a safe in a french bank with his psychotic friend Eric and falling for a hooker named Zoe.
Jean-Hugues Anglade was fantastic and you could really see his character breaking down through desperation and addiction. Eric's death scene was such a poignant image of the ultimate high he wanted.
You can definitely see Tarantinos influence in this film but Avery did a really decent and original effort. The bank heist is one of the best I've seen on film. Very much like Reservoir Dogs but if you actually see the heist itself.
