Review of Killing Zoe (1993) by Brandon S — 07 Jul 2013
Roger Avary's directoral debut is a pretty off the wall take of the bank job film, it seems to be a new take on the old genre and a kick back to the same type of films that were coming out during the French New Wave movement.
Stoltz is an American safecracker that arrives in Paris to meet up with an old buddy and together they and a group of guys are going to rob a bank. Prior to the robbery Stoltz sleeps with a prostitute that he falls for right before he and the group go on an all night drug binge.
Still shocking and surprisingly not too dated, still the violence and drug taking scenes pack the same amour of punch they did upon the films intial release.
