Review of Killing Zoe (1993) by Paul B — 11 Jan 2010
Produced by the big guy himself, Killing Zoe has all the hallmarks of a Tarrantino inspired flick: big guns, bloodbaths, sexy blonde, class A drugs and a bank robbery gone wrong when American safe-cracker, Zed, meets up with childhood friend and heroin addict, Eric, for the big bank job in France after eleven years apart.
High on drugs and short on planning, they attempt to rob the only bank open on Bastille Day and go in with all guns blazing. Not hard to figure out what's about to happen when the plot is complicated by part-time escort, Zoe, falling for the charms of Zed's 'Captain America,' but it's all wrapped up in a fast-pace plot and action-filled movie that's a bit like watching Guy Ritchie's Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels with French accents--but oh what the hell? It's light and it's entertaining and pushes all the buttons.
One for the lads.
