Review of Killing Them Softly (2012) by Henry F — 11 Jan 2014
A modern-day noir film that is both simple in it's message and story but forcibly driven home by it's heavy dialogue and brutal acts of violence. The film has dark humor mixed in to it's tale of capitalism and inner-workings of the Mob, with Brad Pitt giving a solid performance alongside the rest of the prominent cast.
The film is evenly paced and while it tells a simple story it uses it's brief 98 minute running time well and keeps the story moving along at a steady pace. If you like noir films, this is a great modern-day example and is hard-hitting and visceral.
