Review of Killing Them Softly (2012) by Alec L — 23 Dec 2015
Dark in its tone yet somehow laughable, exciting while boring at the same time, Killing Them Softly is basically nothing more than a poorly stuffed bag of tricks. We have narrative overtures about the financial crisis, which is nice, when we're dealing with criminals and thugs.
We have violence, we have everything we need to weave that old tale about modernity which can only be told so many times before the shotgun loses its ability to pack much of a punch at all.
