Review of Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988) by Maria C — 05 Jun 2009
Much like Jack Frost the concept here is so ridiculous that it would be easy to make this a schlocky, silly B-movie. But they don't. Instead they take it seriously and it works by treading a fine line between comedy and horror while never truly submitting to either (not unlike Mars Attacks).
It's very inventive - though lacking in gore, the production and sets are totally brilliant, and the finale reminded me of Aliens. Great film.
